Good and bad. I used it to back up my computer. It comes with 2 cables: The usb cable and a power cable(in 2 sections). The power cable connects internally to a spare IDE power connector inside a DESKTOP computer. From here it has a nice bracket that you can screw into one of the empty slots of the desktop giving you an external SATA power connector which connects to the other half of the cable. The drive slides right in nicely and snaps shut inside the case, then you connect the cables and the drive was found by Windows 7. There is no driver disk for XP if that's what you are looking for.After running the backup for awhile, it would hang up. I tried this a few times and got the same result, this is a drive I had taken out of my system to use so the drive was good. I tried again the next day and got the same results so I took the drive out. The drive was extremely hot so I let it cool down and tried my backup again with the drive OUTSIDE the case and it ran fine. So in one way it did work. My gripes with this are:***Cables are too short. – The usb cable is about 2 feet long which makes it difficult to connect if your desktop is under your desk. The power cable is about 3 feet long.***Laptop user out of luck – Because it is powered from the connections inside your desktop, its not friendly for laptop users. I did find an old DC 12V power supply around with a small connector that worked for me if you need to buy one, you should probably spend the money on a different external case.***Drive overheated inside the case.The good ***It worked (for me) pretty well outside the case so if you don't care about the case than it may work for you.***Cheap price
