Comments about Hype HY-2010-TP Portable USB 2.0 Cassette to MP3 Sound Converter - Rip Your Old Cassettes to MP3!:
I purchased this device thinking that after all of these years I would finally to convert some unique dj mixes and demo tapes that I had from eons ago. At the price it was being sold for I figured how can I go wrong, but I was horribly mistaken. I would have been better off finding a retro Walkman and recording via the line in on my sound card. Within 5 minutes of holding this device in my hand the silver hype logo, just "fell off" exposing the innards of the device and revealing the fact that not only was the logo poorly stuck on, but its real purpose was to cover a hole! The same silver label advertises that the device can run on 2 AA batteries, which is just plain false. It runs on USB power and that's it. To top it off the output is so mixed with ambient noise of the operating device that its unusable for any form of enjoyable listening. Torture maybe, but not enjoyable audio. Final recommendation, stay as far away from purchasing this product as possible, if you're on this page you have already gone to far. Run!!!
Service and delivery comments:
Geeks was professional as always. Fast shipping even though I'm in the Caribbean my order was shipped from the USA on Thursday and was in my hand by Monday morning. My order was complete and nothing was damaged. This was my 7th time ordering from Geeks over the years.

No Power Port
By Raunstar
from Phoenix AZ
There is no power port to plug this machine in. It does have a "headphone" port, it does have a USB port & cable included. But there is no way to power this machine other than 2 AA batteries. Cassettes seem to require a lot more energy than a radio, therefore, by the 2nd side of the cassette, (sometimes it lasts until the 2nd cassette) the cassette starts dragging. The "Features" state that one can use a 3v power cord, there is no where to plug one in. Additionally, I'm using a new computer w/Windows 7. It claims in the instructions that I can listen to the cassette as it records as long as I have checked the box that says "Software Playthrough". It's not true. The only way to hear the cassette as it is recording is to attach a set of earphones to the device, and watch the frequency waves. I have perhaps a thousand cassette tapes I was hoping to convert using the audacity program. However, it costs me 2 AA Duracell batteries per cassette. I'm very disappointed.
