Great device up to 2TB! Online advertising states can handle up to 3TB. However this device's power or drivers cannot actually handle 3TB HDD. Tried numerous times, different units of the exact external case, no go. FORTUNATELY, the customer service folks at Geeks.com are awesome folks kept working with me until I in fact found an external case that in fact does handle 3TB HDD. If you want to go beyond 2TB, try the " 3.5" SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Aluminium External " p/n HE3532FC. The USB 3 connectors are backward compatible with USB 2.0, and it comes with a driver disk if needed for your OS.

This is my second Astech SATA HDD Enclosure and they work flawlessly. They are sturdy and should protect the drive with no problems. They are short on instructions, but once you open it up, it is pretty easy to see how to install your drive.

I have several of these. The WDC 3TB comes back as 128gb under both linux (kutunu 11.04) and Windows XP. So far 2tb and less work fine, case runs very cool.
