Get Yesterday's Technology - Today!

In 2003 the new fangled, faster wireless, Wireless-G was ratified.  It was all the rage, and such an improvement on the snails pace of Wireless-B.  Well, back then, not all laptops had Wi-Fi (hard to believe, but it's true - there WAS a time before Wi-Fi) so if you wanted this fancy, faster Wi-Fi on your laptop, you simply popped in a Wireless-G card into your PCMCIA PC Card Slot on your trusty Pentium 4m laptop and soon were effortlessly checking e-mail and surfing the web WITHOUT wires - at a wondrous 54 megabits PER SECOND (give or take a few megabits..  you know how them marketers are)! Oh, those glorious days of freedom!

Well, times have changed, now we have superfast Wireless-AC, laptops and tablets just bristling with super fast Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and who knows what else.  Well, with this card, you're getting NONE of that - other then the not as fast Wi-Fi.  We've also said goodbye to out trusty friend, the PCMCIA PC Card Slot (as well as Pentium 4m laptops)!  But whose going to look after all those poor orphaned old laptops that are sitting out there in the dustbin of history just BEGGING for **something** to put in those achingly empty PCMICA slots?  Never fear, Evertek is here for the rescue!  Now for a mere pittance, you too can be the proud owner of yesterdays technology.  Imagine all the fond memories that this extremely nostalgic PCMCIA card will bring back.  You can reminisce about the good old days (cue in "All in the Family" theme song)... what it was like to run Windows XP all day and surf over to watch those funny cat videos on YouTube (which didn't come out until 2005, but what's a couple of years between friends).

Honestly, we are not sure what you'd do with this beauty of a card.  Tear it apart to take a gander at the fabulous Realtek chipset?  Adapt it to slice cheese?  Use it as a square Frisbee?  Tape a bunch together and launch them up into the atmosphere on a bottle rocket? (please use old PCMICA cards responsibility). Or, find a really old person with a really old laptop and help gramps get with the wireless revolution.  If you notice, this card supports Windows 98SE for that old Compaq Celeron-M he may drag into your store, all the way up to Windows 7, if you can somehow coax that OS onto an olden-times laptop.  Quite frankly, if you just put your mind to it, the possibilities are endless!

Now for boring old ad copy that was here before...  What you are getting is a CenDyne 802.11g Wireless LAN Cardbus PCMCIA Adapter.  This old timer "features" a 32-bit CardBus Type II PCMCIA interface and is compliant with IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G standard (now is the time to ohhh and ahhh).. This wireless adapter offers a "high data transfer rate" (circa 2003) of up to 54 Mbps (more ohhhs and ahhhs). With 64/128-bit WEP, WPA (TKIP with IEEE 802.1x) and AES security features, you can rest assured that your wireless communications are protected from outside intruders! (we hope - oh, that's right, we'd not recommend using WEP anymore - it was cracked in 2005).

Simply plug in this CenDyne 802.11g Wireless LAN Cardbus PCMCIA Adapter to your notebook's PCMCIA PC Card Slot (that is, if you can find a laptop old enough that still has a PCMCIA slot AND needs a wireless card) and you can surf the Internet anywhere at home, at the office, wireless hot spots, Starbucks or at the nursing home! (though you may need to kick it back to Wireless-B speeds there).
