Wont Work as Bootable USB Drive

I hoped to use this product to boot from USB. The drive is not found by the BIOS of several computers I've tried. I've got it to work using a third party tool called "plop" - even then, it takes a while for plop to find the device.There is no firmware update I can find for this drive. I own 3 other USB 1TB drives by Samsung and Western Digital, they are easily found by the BIOS and boot fine.I have the latest firmware update on the motherboard and BIOS. Going to the Seagate website, there are no firmware updates for this device, and support refers you to a troubleshooter which asks you to check cables etc.This drive works fine in Windows 8 and Windows 7 as a plain old file storage.I am disappointed with this product from Seagate; a brand I thought I could trust. I would expect these sort of hassles form a product of the 1990s early 2000 era. I do not find it acceptable in 2012 when USB2 and bootable BIOS have been around for many years - I will be buying Samsung or WD in future.
